Description
Cassie Challenge is a 58 mile/93.4 kilometres run over 50 mountains in the Mournes to be completed in under 24 hours and ascending a total of 6193 metres. The dream of undertaking this feat became a reality when I completed the challenge on 18 June 2005 in 23:12.
On 24 June 2017 I managed to complete the challenge in 21:43. Alternatively Cassie’s Challenge can be achieved by completing the distance in seven walks within a twelve month period. Whichever way you do the challenge, you will enjoy the beautiful Kingdom of Mourne, an area of outstanding natural beauty.
This book and Cassie’s Challenge will hopefully entice you to explore the Mournes and everything that this beautiful landscape has to offer. All proceeds of the book go to the invaluable work of the Mourne Mountain Rescue.
